Honest, I'm not doing it on purpose!

Again!!

I Am A: True Neutral Human Druid/Sorcerer (3rd/3rd Level)

Ability Scores:
Strength-13
Dexterity-14
Constitution-15
Intelligence-17
Wisdom-19
Charisma-12

Alignment:
True Neutral A true neutral character does what seems to be a good idea. He doesn't feel strongly one way or the other when it comes to good vs. evil or law vs. chaos. Most true neutral characters exhibit a lack of conviction or bias rather than a commitment to neutrality. Such a character thinks of good as better than evil after all, he would rather have good neighbors and rulers than evil ones. Still, he's not personally committed to upholding good in any abstract or universal way. Some true neutral characters, on the other hand, commit themselves philosophically to neutrality. They see good, evil, law, and chaos as prejudices and dangerous extremes. They advocate the middle way of neutrality as the best, most balanced road in the long run. True neutral is the best alignment you can be because it means you act naturally, without prejudice or compulsion. However, true neutral can be a dangerous alignment because it represents apathy, indifference, and a lack of conviction.

Race:
Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.

Primary Class:
Druids gain power not by ruling nature but by being at one with it. They hate the unnatural, including aberrations or undead, and destroy them where possible. Druids receive divine spells from nature, not the gods, and can gain an array of powers as they gain experience, including the ability to take the shapes of animals. The weapons and armor of a druid are restricted by their traditional oaths, not simply training. A druid's Wisdom score should be high, as this determines the maximum spell level that they can cast.

Secondary Class:
Sorcerers are arcane spellcasters who manipulate magic energy with imagination and talent rather than studious discipline. They have no books, no mentors, no theories just raw power that they direct at will. Sorcerers know fewer spells than wizards do and acquire them more slowly, but they can cast individual spells more often and have no need to prepare their incantations ahead of time. Also unlike wizards, sorcerers cannot specialize in a school of magic. Since sorcerers gain their powers without undergoing the years of rigorous study that wizards go through, they have more time to learn fighting skills and are proficient with simple weapons. Charisma is very important for sorcerers; the higher their value in this ability, the higher the spell level they can cast.

Find out What Kind of Dungeons and Dragons Character Would You Be?, courtesy of Easydamus</a></b> (e-mail)

Hi,

The IP 142.165.23.233 is not blocked in server firewall. Please go to http://whatismyip.com to double your local machine IP. Also please send in the FTP client connection log so that we may be able to point out whether there is something wrong with the settings on your local machine which is causing issues with FTP connection.

Three things:

1 - My IP is not 142.165.23.233. Not even close. (BTW, ifconfig works just fine for me.)

2 - The person taking my call did not ask me for my IP address.

2.5 - I did not think this odd, because

3 - I was told someone was going to call back to help my with my problem at which time I presumed I would be asked for my IP address. No one called.

In short, this problem required *real-time* help which I was made to expect but did not get.

Tomorrow I will have a different IP which will work for a bit then get blocked. It should all be documented under the domain [domain].ca (which the person taking my call *did* ask for).

Regards,

Spike.

---------------------

That and the other guy who wants his site up ASAP after delaying location photography for over a week 'cause he was missing some doodads.

Grr snarl.

GUYS! Your Assistance Please!

Women too, but you'll see why I asked for guys.

A friend of mine referred me to this survey:
The Modesty Survey

Now, this is basically about how many of men's 'sins' can be blamed on "immodest women" (Way to pass the buck!) and is (of course) supposed to be for guys only but hey, girls, do as you wish. It's all your fault anyways.

So if you have nothing better to do and are looking for some entertainment, take the time to fill out this thing and perhaps provide them with some "real-world" stats.

Grrrr.

Seems that in Internet Explorer's implementation of Javascript, the "window.open" function only accepts a string literal as an argument for the second parameter, the window name. You can't use a variable. I checked in versions 6 and 7.

Is this brain-dead or what? Works fine in Firefox, Opera and Netscape, although it seems I can't convince Netscape 8 to open requested pop-ups in new windows regardless of settings.

It just irks the hell out of me when I can't use a neat solution because IE has to be different from all the other browsers. I can work around it, but it's messy. Hate that.

Busy-ness is.

Seems I've got a bit of slack time while my make-up artist is getting the first of three girls ready.

This is part of a fashion calendar project for a startup modeling agency with which my make-up artist is involved. We've got six girls of twelve done so far.

It's been a fun, interesting and challenging project involving both studio and location shoots, with the locations not always being ideal. I'm doing this for a ridiculously low rate, in exchange for exposure and future business.

Besides that I've been pretty busy for the last couple of months and I've actually managed to match income to expenses in October and November. I'm still waiting on a couple of payments to achieve the same in December. Business has been slowly but surely improving as my name gets out there.

There's been lots of girlfriend time of late, especially over the holidays so far with more to look forward to, with the kids this time.

Fatigue problem still is, due to a couple of setbacks. But it's more of an irritant than anything else.

It's safe to assume, o unlikely casual reader of these posts, that lack of posts means that I'm busy, things are going well and I'm generally having a good time.

Time to do some of that photography stuff now. Life is good.

Yup.

Every now and again I manage to convince myself that I actually know what I'm doing.

Oddly enough, convincing others of this is not as much of an issue.

UNITE AGAINST SPAM!!

Y'know, for a while now I've been thinking that if nobody patronized businesses that use spam as advertising, then businesses wouldn't be so motivated to use it.

Today I read an article about how spam seems to have increased lately: Bot nets likely behind jump in spam (opens in new window).

In this article the writer makes the following comment:

"Hart argues that, if no one bought the goods hawked by spammers, then the incentive for bulk emailers would rapidly go away. The message is simple, he added.

'If you don't like spam, then don't do business with spammers.'"

Sound familiar?

So it occurs to me now - why don't we try to put the meme phenomenon to good use? Maybe if the word was spread sufficiently around the blogosphere, businesses might start getting the idea that using unsolicited commercial e-mail is a bad idea.

So, LJ friends, unite against spam! Feel free to copy and paste this whole post to your own blog, or simply post the statement "I don't do business with spammers or spam users" and encourage your own friends to do likewise. Feel free to translate it to whatever language you might think appropriate so long as you spread the word far and wide. Repeat the post every now and again too, to make sure it gets noticed. Post it on your web sites, use it as a sig line. Etc, etc.

Give it a try! What have you got to lose except a few second of your blogging time?

I DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH SPAMMERS OR SPAM USERS.
Pass it on.

JE NE FAIS PAS AFFAIRE AVEC LES UTILISATEURS DE POURRIEL.
Passez le méssage.

More offices

I dreamt I had my own office mostly glass enclosed but old-school style this time, with heavy wooden frames. (Yesterday's dream featured an ultra-modern type office, everything inside in white.)

The frames were brown and the bottom two feet or so of the walls were mustard yellow. Each section of window was something like three or four feet across with a large squarish pane resting on the wall stub a rectangular pane above it reaching to the ceiling. On the upper panes my phone number was displayed in red bordered in white, my logo likewise on the glass doors. I think they were transfer lettering or stickers. the floor was dark blue-gray coloured concrete, the ceiling was coffered I think and the same colour as the window frames. The space was long and narrow. You could see across the hallway and through other offices as the whole floor was made this way.

It was still mostly empty as I had just rented it. I was also sharing it with someone else, a woman, to save on rent I suppose. I was explaining to her that I wouldn't use this space for a studio, since I did most of my photography on location but it would be very useful for meeting customers.

There was a cot in there and I was lying in it when it gradually became my own waking world bed. It took me a moment to figure out I was actually awake.

Before the memory of it fades...

I dreamt I was in the basement of my parents' house calibrating a colour inkjet printer by printing a comic strip.

The basement morphs into the nth floor of a high-rise, kind of like the offices of a newspaper and I'm trying to figure out what font style to use to publish the comic strip.

Suddenly I hear a high-pitched *VOOF* out the window--the wall is all window--and I look out to see an airplane in the distance climbing out. It's a twin turboprop airliner like a Dash 8 or a Fokker F-21; whether it's high wing or low wing is vague. It's just after sunset. The sky is a deep blue going to purple at the horizon.

It comes around for another pass--*VOOF*--and I comment to the people around me that if this thing hits the building it gonna come right through our floor. We evacuate using the stairs.

On the ground floor we are all arrested, handcuffs and all. It seems to be daytime, maybe late afternoon. I'm now aware that I'm in a large city in the United States. I'm trying to explain that my I.D. is in my wallet left behind at the office and that my passport is in my car in the building's underground parking lot. They seem oblivious to this. Wherever they bring us, it looks like a sort of waiting room with some tables, we are asked to write down on paper (torn out of a spiral-bound note-book?) what happened. The last thing I remember is jotting down "Fokker F-21", anticipating problems with the pronunciation of that name.

If you'll just bear with me,
I'll tell you my story,
for which I'm not sorry:

As I woke this morning,
with too much sleep lacking,
without any warning,
I caught myself rhyming!
How very disturbing.

Since I've duties of a sort,
while eating some torte,
I filed this report,
expecting little retort:

We have a web slate,
It is reasonably up to date,
No bugs have been reported of late,
French event announcements I still await.
(Please don't mind this odd state;
I was up too long before eight,
after working way too late.
Must be something I ate.)

I will deem it worthwhile,
If it should cause some to smile.

But what is this weird curse,
that has me typing in verse,
rhyming yet, to make things worse!
This is so adverse.

Out OUT strange whimsy!
I say onto thee,
I shall smite thee with coffee!
lest ye leave me be.

Thus well forfended,
with 'spresso well blended,
my rhyming is ended.
Hope no one's offended.
